International Day of the Book, or World Book and Copyright Day, is observed by all the United Nations member states on 23rd April each year. The day is an annual event organised by UNESCO to promote reading and the importance of publishing and copyright among the masses.

Shakespeare’s death anniversary: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation decided to celebrate the occasion of Word Book Day on the death anniversary of the literary giant William Shakespeare.
