Journaling is the practice of maintaining a diary or a journal.

Different types of journals are used to keep track of various activities. If you are juggling many things in a day, it is best to index your activities in a journal.

1. To-do lists:

A bullet journal may be used where one can jot down all the urgent tasks to be done the following day. Subsequently, ticking off tasks gives one a sense of accomplishment.

2. Habit Journal:
According to research, it takes a person almost 20 days to develop a new habit. Journaling can be used to adopt new habits and track the pattern of old ones.

3. Food Journal:
A food log is used to maintain a record of what one consumes on a day-to-day basis. Such a journal can be useful if a person is planning to adjust their diet and adopt a healthier lifestyle. A food journal includes details such as:

  • The contents of the meal

  • Quantity of food intake

  • Timings of meals

  • Tracking if any other activity is also pursued while eating

  • Place of eating et cetera


4. Writing Journal
Such a journal is maintained for a range of purposes:

  • Practising creative writing

  • Jotting down personal thoughts

  • Recording any ideas as they occur.

Journaling the incoming and outgoing money on a regular basis is useful for keeping tabs on your spending habits.
