Weighing what someone else has weighs us down in the long run. Comparing your path to others is demeaning to one's own self. One cannot expect to attain their objectives if they are busy looking into what everyone else is pursuing.

Looking for external validation can pull one down into a never-ending struggle. Comparison kills ambition like nothing else. In order to stay on track, it is at times best to put your best blinders on and run your path like no one is looking. Because they are not.

In charting your path, however, nothing is out of reach. Keeping outside distractions to a minimum allows us to attain a state of flow. Once such a state is achieved, the world is your oyster.
